Heartbeat

The Heartbeat Chorus was formed 10 years ago by musical director Lesley Carson.  The group began with just 6 members: Lesley, daughter Jeni, best friend Rose along with her two daughters, Lorna and Lesley, and lifelong friend Sue. Five of the original six are still members today making the chorus a real family affair!  Lesley decided to form the group after having enjoyed great success with The Liberty Belles, The Cheshire Chord Company, and her own Gold Medal winning quartet, Montage.

Heartbeat stand out in the crowd because of their wide and diverse repertoire, covering 4 part A Cappella Harmony, Contemporary sounds, Gospel soul numbers and Traditional 16th Century and modern Choral pieces. Heartbeat don’t just sing - they MOVE!  Their exciting depth of sound is teamed with slick choreography to present an outstanding entertainment experience. Heartbeat are a competitive chorus, always raising their standard of excellence, and in July 2007 wowed the judges and took third place at the world renowned International Musical Eisteddfod, Llangollen, Wales.

 April 2007 saw them take to the stage at the Stockport PLAZA for their 10th Anniversary Show.  The show was a great success and we can't wait for the chance to do it again!  2008 sees Heartbeat competing in the Radio 3 Choir Of The Year competition as well as becoming fully chartered members of Sweet Adelines International.  Check out the new website for all the latest news and updates!
